Today, March 12, 2021, the Green Destinations Story Award 2021 ceremony was held as part of the ITB international tourism fair in Berlin, where Tivat was declared the winner in the “Nature and Ecotourism” category for the story of good practice: Restoration of natural values through management of the Special Nature Reserve “Tivatska Solila”. The second place in this category went to Ko\u010devsko, Slovenia, and the third place went to Saba, Caribbean Netherlands.<\/p>\n

All destinations from the Top 100 list for 2020 competed for one of the Green Destinations awards, with the jury nominating 30 destinations in 5 categories. Important selection criteria were: the level of innovation, how effective the stories are in solving real problems in tourism sustainability and to what extent they can be applied elsewhere.<\/p>\n

We remind you that Tivat has been nominated for the Green Destinations Sustainable Story Award 2021 in the “Nature and Ecotourism” category. The Tourist Organization Tivat and JP “Morsko Dobro” applied for this award with an example of good management practices of the “Tivatska Solila” Special Nature Reserve.<\/p>\n

Albert Salman, president of Green Destinations pointed out that the goal is for the destinations to exchange ideas through these examples of good practice that can help the better development of tourism, as well as for these stories to serve as inspiration for the tourism industry and also for tourists to visit these destinations.<\/p>\n
