The billboard removal results of Tivat was recognized among the global Top 100 Good Practice Stories. Billboards are a form of visual pollution that degrade the natural and built environment. They ,,commercialize, homogenize, and degrade our natural landscape&#8221; and ,,destroy distinctiveness&#8221; of communities. Billboards undermine community character and livability \u2013 being also a risk for traffic \u2013 visibility, distraction, accidents. And in our digital age, they are not smart but an old-fashioned way of marketing with little evidence-based effect. All this and the good and easily transferrable example to other municipalities are reasons why the \u201cLess is more\u201d story has ranked Tivat for a Green Destinations Story Award in the category Nature &amp; Scenery. Six Good Practice Stories from each category of the 2024 Green Destinations Top 100 Stories have been nominated for awards. We are pleased that Tivat is one of them!
